privacy

This page explains in plain words what happens to your data when you visit www.familynostalgia.com, and why.

who is responsible

This website is run by enable4all (Chamber of Commerce, KvK 58417486), Postjeskade 141, 1058DN Amsterdam, the Netherlands, and Kampos West Mani, 24016 Messinia, Greece. For anything about your data, email info@familynostalgia.com.

hosting and visitor statistics

Our website is hosted by Vercel. Like any web server, Vercel receives your IP address and browser details with every page you open and keeps them in technical logs to deliver the website and keep it secure. Our website itself sets no cookies.

We use Vercel Web Analytics and Speed Insights without cookies and without personal profiles. They record the page you open, the website you came from, your country, your browser, operating system and device type, and how fast the page loads. Visitors are counted with an anonymous code that is discarded after 24 hours.

If we switch on click counting, we also count a few button clicks: Amazon store (country code only), villa inquiry sent (email app or website), WhatsApp, language change (language code), chat opened, chat error (error type), gallery opened (which gallery). These counts never include your name, email, messages or the pages' text.

That is all we measure: Vercel’s cookie-free, anonymous visit counting and speed measurement, plus the anonymous click counts above if we switch them on. For this we use no cookies, build no profiles, do not track you across websites and use no advertising trackers.

Legal basis: our legitimate interest in keeping our website running and safe, and in seeing, without knowing who you are, which pages are read and how fast they load (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)).

booking inquiries

By default, the inquiry form on our visit us page opens your own email app with your message filled in; nothing you type passes through our website. You can also message us on WhatsApp or LINE, which handle your messages under their own privacy policies. We use your details only to answer your inquiry. Your emails arrive in our mailbox, which is hosted in the EU, and we delete inquiry emails from our mailbox after one week.

If our website email sending is switched on, your first and last name, email, phone (optional), message and page language are sent from our website (hosted by Vercel) through our email provider’s SMTP server to info@familynostalgia.com. Our website keeps no copy and never writes what you type into its logs. As with any inquiry email, we use your details only to answer your inquiry and delete the email from our mailbox after one week.

Legal basis: taking the steps you ask for before a booking (GDPR Art. 6(1)(b)).

maps by Google

The maps on our family. nostalgia and visit us pages come from Google Maps and load by themselves, without a click: we chose this, as on our previous website, so the maps work straight away. Google receives your IP address and browser data and may set cookies under its own privacy policy.

The world map on /shop is drawn by Google Charts, loaded from www.gstatic.com as soon as the page opens. Google receives your IP address and browser data. We send it only the list of countries where our oil is sold; no API key, no account.

Legal basis: our legitimate interest in showing you where we are and, on our shop page, where to buy our oil (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)).

Facebook

On the home page the Facebook box (Meta’s Page Plugin) loads as soon as the page opens, not after a click. Meta receives your IP address and browser data and may set cookies under its own privacy policy.

If it does not load, we show a plain link to our Facebook page instead.

Legal basis: our legitimate interest in showing you our news (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)).

bot check

If our bot check is switched on (for the AI assistant or our website email sending), Cloudflare Turnstile receives technical data such as your IP address and browser details to tell people from bots, under Cloudflare’s Turnstile privacy notice.

Legal basis: our legitimate interest in keeping our website safe from bots and abuse (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)).

where your data is processed

Everything we run ourselves stays in the EU: our website’s server functions run in Frankfurt, Germany, our mailbox is hosted in the EU, and our AI assistant, if we switch it on, uses Google Cloud in the EU.

Some services on our pages are run by US companies: Vercel Inc. (our website host), Google LLC (the maps), Meta Platforms, Inc. (the Facebook box) and Cloudflare, Inc. (if our bot check is switched on). Your browser connects to them directly, so they may process your IP address in the United States. These transfers are covered by the EU–US Data Privacy Framework, in which each of these companies takes part.

your rights

Under the GDPR you can ask us which of your data we hold, and ask us to correct or erase it or to stop using it: email info@familynostalgia.com. You can also complain to the Dutch data authority, the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens (autoriteitpersoonsgegevens.nl).
